These terms outline the standards, expectations, and working practices applied to all projects carried out by Gary Hammond Painting & Decorating.
They are designed to ensure clarity, quality, and a smooth working relationship from initial quotation through to completion.
Agreement
By accepting a quotation (in writing, electronically, or otherwise), you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Scope of Works
All quotations clearly outline the agreed scope of work and associated costs.
Any additional or variation work must be agreed in advance and may incur additional charges.
Preparation & Workmanship
All work includes thorough preparation, including filling, sanding, priming, and finishing using professional trade materials.
Work is carried out to a high standard, taking into account the condition and age of existing surfaces.
Due to the nature of decorating, minor imperfections may remain visible depending on surface condition, lighting, and previous coatings.
Materials
Professional trade materials are used unless otherwise specified.
Where materials are supplied by the client, we cannot guarantee the finish or durability.
Unforeseen Work & Surface Conditions
Quotations are based on visible conditions at the time of inspection.
If additional preparation or defects become apparent during the project, this will be discussed and agreed before proceeding.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
Larger items will be carefully protected or moved where agreed.
Scheduling & Access
Start dates and project durations are estimates and may be affected by factors beyond our control.
Work is based on continuous and uninterrupted access. Delays or restricted access may result in additional charges.
Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed:
We reserve the right to suspend work if payment terms are not met.
Guarantee
A 12-month workmanship guarantee is provided on completed work.
This covers application only and does not include:
Insurance
Gary Hammond Painting & Decorating holds £2.5 million public liability insurance.
General
We maintain a clean and organised working environment and use dust-reducing systems where possible, although a completely dust-free environment cannot be guaranteed.
